Cotswold Bike Works is owned and ran by myself, Scott Jones.

Located in Bourton On The Water.

I am the current winner of Britain's best bike mechanic and qualified to the highest level with 30 years of experience.

This guarantees that you get the best ever service, but does unfortunately mean that I am usually quite busy.

I work closely with Jozef Metelka, multiple World and Paralympic Champion in Track, Road and TT cycling.

My shop stocks parts and accessories to keep you pedalling and I'm able to source any other parts you require with full access to all major brands and suppliers. 

How to book your bike in

My workshop uses an appointment system for my services, for which your bike needs to be with me by 10am on the day of the booking.

I can accept bikes in a few days earlier if needed.

When you arrive

I will personally assess your bike when you drop it off and give you an estimated price, so you can be assured of no hidden costs.

I will advise you if parts need to be ordered in.

A text will be sent on completion.

After which I would appreciate your bike being collected within a timely manner.

Bike MOT

£59.99

Also known as a basic, bronze and quick check.

Absolutely NO parts are replaced on this service.

If your bike has an issue then it will require my

Standard Service.

  • Seat post removed, cleaned and refitted.
  • Headset and handlebar assembly checked.
  • Tyres checked for wear and inflated.
  • Pedals and chainset safety checked.
  • Gearing indexed and lubricated.
  • Brakes safety checked and realigned.
  • Full bolt check to manufacturers torque specs.
  • Service sheet supplied.

Standard Service

From £119.99

Recommended every 3-12 months.

This service is to remedy a specific issue, replace parts, or just to have that fresh feeling bike again.

It's my most popular value for money service.

  • Full Muc-Off bike clean.
  • Chain and cassette degreased.
  • Truing and tensioning of wheels.
  • Tubeless sealant refreshed.

I book out a whole day just for you and your bike so that it can be returned to you better than new. Guaranteed!

  • Frame and forks assessed for damage.
  • Full drivetrain degrease.
  • Electronic diagnostic / firmware update.
  • Hydraulic brake bleeding.
  • Servicing of bottom bracket, headset, front hub, rear hub and freehub body.

Pivot bearing replacement

Recommended every 12-18 months.

Full suspension frame pivot bearings are often an overlooked essential bike component. Being exposed to dirt, water, sand and other abuses, over time your rear suspension will start to stiffen up and you may experience excessive play. Fitting price is £200.

This includes a service as most parts need removing.

Invisiframe protection

Available for road and mountain bikes. Invisiframe kits are all cut to order for each bike make, model, size, and paint finish and because of this, all Invisiframe kits are subject to payment in advance. I will send you a secure payment link through my card provider.

Actual fitting cost is £200 and payable on collection.

This includes a service as most parts need removing.

Occasionally I do have to close if an emergency arises, so I advise contacting me first before making a special journey.

All prices quoted are for labour costs only.

Labour rate is charged at £60 per hour.

Bike storage is charged at £10 per day.

This will commence 14 days after I have contacted you to confirm your service completion.

After 28 days, the bike will be removed and sold to cover my costs.

If you wish to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please give me as much notice as possible bearing in mind that a message or email sent over the weekend won't be received until the start of following week.

Failure to attend your appointment without notice will mean paying in advance for future bookings due to my loss of earnings.
